Tupac died at 25. If Malcolm X died at 25 he would have been a street hustler named Detroit Red. If Martin Luther King died at 25 he would’ve been known as a local baptist preacher. And if I had died at 25 I would’ve been known as a struggling musician. Only a sliver of my life’s potential.

Thomas Eric Duncan has died. It’s so hard not to make certain topics racial when things like this happen. Personally, I don’t think he was given a fair chance to live at all. I don’t believe that “they were waiting for clearance in order to administer the Ebola vaccine” BS. How many other people were waiting on the vaccine ? The doctors claim they were waiting for an ok? Was there a line of other Ebola patients that we were not aware of? No. It was just one. Eric Duncan. Just one person they had to work with, in an extremely dire situation but they took their sweet time & let him get in a serious… extreme condition. Then last minute as he’s dying, they offered the vaccine, so they don’t have people (like me) saying “they didn’t offer it to him”. But You can’t offer a cure last minute knowing it’s not going to do much and expect me to think otherwise, knowing that you knew his condition and how timing played a crucial rule to his survival. They were literally flying those white doctors in from Liberia, even the one guy who walked out the ambulance & offered them the vaccine as soon as they got into the hospital; Yet for the one black person, already in the US, who even took himself (no jet needed) to the hospital; “they needed clearance”? Yeah, sure. That sounds extremely believable. Even if we take race out of this whole situation, he first went to the hospital on (Sept. 26th), they sent him home (which is questionable but i’ll give them the benefit of doubt). He went back again and was finally diagnosed Sept. 28th, 11 days ago, the virus takes 12 days to kill you (according to CDC and WHO)…yet they waited until the 10th day…literally yesterday (October 7th), they waited until yesterday to give him the vaccine. The way they handled this entire situation, with the amount of intellect everyone involved has, they could have saved that man’s life or perhaps prolonged it a bit longer. A lot of things are questionable about this situation. Nonetheless, it’s unfortunate that so many people are passing away from this and majority of the world doesn’t care to help, may all their souls rest in peace.

I’m more than open to discuss this with anyone who wants to have a discussion. Unfortunately tumblr doesn’t offer a platform that would allow us to do so, however feel free to mention me on Twitter (@vohandas), it’s much easier to do so there.
